I found a Vexor in an asteroid belt in a low sec system. A couple hours earlier, a group of my corpmates and I destroyed his Typhoon in an adjacent system. I figured nailing this Vexor would be easy, as I was in a Tengu. Wrong.
It turns out his fit was pure bait. It appears the game was for him to engage an attacker long enough for a friend of his, who is known to hang out in this system, to pop on grid and attack while he neuted me.
I did manage to destroy his Vexor, and escape just before his friend's battleship showed up.
Let me tell you…the dual XLASBs on that Vexor were extremely effective. He took over 24,000 in damage before he went down, and I was dumb enough to stay on him. At that time, I did not know that the 3rd player was either friendly to him or an alt.
